Frequently asked questions

What is the WSA Score?

WSA (Words per Second × Accuracy) is Burst's core metric. It combines your typing speed and accuracy into a single number. Typing fast but making many errors results in a lower WSA than typing slowly with high precision.

What is the difference between Arena and Solo?

In Solo mode you practice freely with random word lists, with no impact on the global leaderboard. In Arena mode all players receive the exact same word list during the same period — this ensures the leaderboard is 100% fair.

Why do I get stuck on a word?

That's the core mechanic of Burst — you only advance to the next word when you've typed the current one completely correct. There's no skip. Time lost correcting mistakes is the only penalty, which makes accuracy just as important as speed.

How does the leaderboard work?

The global leaderboard ranks players by WSA Score. You can filter by duration (15s, 30s, 60s) and scope (global, country, today). Your position updates after each Arena run.

How do I unlock titles?

Titles are unlocked automatically based on your all-time best WSA Score: Novice (any score), Swift (1.5+), Blazing (2.5+), Sonic (3.5+), and Phantom (4.5+).

Can I delete my account?

Yes. To request full deletion of your account and data, send an email to support@burst.app with the subject "Account deletion". We process requests within 7 business days.

Does the app work offline?

Solo mode works offline with cached words. Arena mode and the global leaderboard require an internet connection to ensure competitive integrity.
